Life is a neverending series of episodes of pain and suffering.
I'm not waxing poetic or being emo. 2021 is so far the year where I keep getting injured. I cracked a rib. My dog gave me a fat lip. I stubbed a toe so bad I think I broke it. Then I get an infection in my other foot so bad that I had to spend six hours in the hospital. A few days later it only now doesn't hurt to walk, though I had to miss out on a hike. It would be nice to spend at least one day this year without some sort of injury that dictates how I spend my day though.
In other news, I finally used some high school geometry for the first time since learning it. I am making some brownies from a box, and the baking times were only for square pans, which somehow I don't have any. I did some math to figure out the surface areas of all the pans I do have and chose one that matched closely to the ones on the instructions. Some quick pi*r^2 and I figured out that my 9-inch cake pan is a very close match for an 8x8 pan (63.6in^2 vs. 64in^2). Extremely close. It was nice!
